Why partner with us

Why brokers and advisers partner with us.

Refer any client with a protection need, whether or not they have a mortgage. We handle the advice, application and underwriting. You earn a share of the commission and keep the client relationship.

Your client stays yours

We only advise on protection. We never approach your client about mortgages, loans, investments or anything else.

You choose how you're paid

30% of our commission with no clawback liability, or 50% with shared clawback. Switch whenever you like.

Paid within six weeks

We pay you within six weeks of receiving commission from the insurer, after the client’s first direct debit has been paid. No minimum referrals.

A named contact

Sophie is your first point of contact, from agreeing terms to talking through a tricky case before you refer.

Clear terms

Your commission, your choice.

Pick the option that suits your firm. You can switch between them at any time. Commission share is calculated on the commission Simply Zest receives from the insurer.

  • 30% of commission, and we keep the clawback risk
  • 50% of commission, with clawback shared if a policy is cancelled early
  • Paid within six weeks of us receiving commission, after the first direct debit has been paid
  • Rewarded for further business from your client too

Who we work with

Every client has something worth protecting.

A mortgage is one reason to think about protection, but it is far from the only one. Refer homeowners, renters, families, self-employed clients, landlords and people with complex income or medical history.

01

Mortgage brokerages

Build protection into the home-buying conversation without slowing down mortgage advice or completion work.

02

Wealth and financial advisers

Make protection part of wider financial planning while a specialist team handles the detailed advice journey.

03

General insurance brokers

Introduce personal protection needs that sit outside your core insurance proposition to an advised service.

04

Firms with capacity gaps

Maintain a consistent protection service when internal resource, specialist knowledge or case-management time is limited.

When to introduce us

Protection opportunities appear throughout the client lifecycle.

An introduction can be useful whenever a client’s responsibilities, income, health priorities or existing cover changes.

  • A client is buying, moving or remortgaging a home
  • Marriage, a new child or another change in family circumstances
  • Self-employment or an income that needs protecting
  • Existing cover may no longer reflect the client’s needs
  • Medical history, occupation or lifestyle makes sourcing less straightforward

Clear ownership

Your clients stay your clients.

We only advise on protection. You keep the relationship, and you keep your own Consumer Duty obligations as the referring firm.

Your firm retains

The primary relationship

  • Your existing client relationship
  • Your own advice, whether that is mortgages, wealth, investments or pensions
  • The decision about when a protection introduction is appropriate
  • Your Consumer Duty obligations as the referring firm

Simply Zest manages

The protection journey

  • Protection advice for the client you refer
  • Whole-of-market research and a recommendation that fits
  • The application and underwriting through to cover going live
  • Real-time case tracking on our portal

The relationship promise

Your client stays yours.

We advise on protection and nothing else. You track every case in real time on our portal, and you are paid within six weeks of us receiving commission, after the client's first direct debit has been paid.

  • We only advise on protection
  • We never approach your client about mortgages, loans, investments or anything else
  • We contact your client only with their consent
  • You are paid within six weeks of us receiving commission, after the client’s first direct debit has been paid

Common questions

What partners usually want to know.

How much do I get paid?+

30% of the commission we receive with no clawback liability, or 50% with shared clawback. You choose, you can switch, and we pay within six weeks of receiving commission from the insurer, after the client’s first direct debit has been paid.

What happens to my clients?+

They stay your clients. We only advise on protection and never approach them about anything else.

Do my clients pay for advice?+

No. There's no fee. We're paid commission by the insurer, and your client just pays their monthly premium.

Can you help clients who've been declined?+

Often, yes. We regularly place non-standard cases and will always be honest about what's possible.

Does referring remove my regulatory responsibility?+

No. We're responsible for the protection advice. You keep your own Consumer Duty obligations as the referring firm.

How does a referral partnership begin?+

We start with a conversation about your firm, clients and current protection process. We then agree the introduction route, communication expectations and relationship boundaries before the first referral.

Which protection needs can you assess?+

Our advised service covers life insurance, critical illness cover, income protection and family income benefit.

How will my firm know what is happening?+

We provide useful progress updates at the important stages of the case, including contact, advice, application, underwriting and completion, without asking you to manage the process.

What if a client cannot be placed immediately?+

We explain the outcome clearly, discuss any realistic alternatives and keep you informed. We do not force a recommendation where suitable cover is not available.
