Simply Zest is a trading style of Charles Frank Finance Limited. Charles Frank Finance Limited is the legal entity responsible for this website and the regulated services provided through the Simply Zest brand.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored by a website or service in your browser. Similar technologies include local browser storage, pixels, scripts and short-lived device identifiers. They can support security, remember settings, measure use or enable advertising, depending on their purpose.
2. What Simply Zest currently uses
The Simply Zest application does not currently include advertising, behavioural tracking or audience analytics scripts. We use Cloudflare technology to host and secure the website, and Cloudflare Turnstile to protect forms from automated abuse.
Cloudflare and Turnstile security
Purpose: protect website availability, detect malicious traffic and verify that form submissions are not automated.
Provider: Cloudflare, Inc. and relevant Cloudflare group entities.
Technology and duration: Turnstile runs browser challenges and creates a short-lived token for server validation. The validation token expires after about five minutes. Depending on Cloudflare’s security configuration and the traffic presented, Cloudflare may also use short-lived device identifiers, local storage or security cookies such as a clearance cookie. Duration is controlled by Cloudflare and the applicable security configuration.
Turnstile processes technical signals needed to provide its bot detection service. It is not given the content you type into the Simply Zest form. When you submit, our server sends the Turnstile token and may send your IP address to Cloudflare’s verification endpoint.
3. Why there is no general cookie banner
UK rules allow storage or access without consent when it is strictly necessary to provide a service requested by the user or to deliver essential security. Our current website implementation is limited to that type of operational and security technology, so it does not show a general accept-or-reject banner.
We still provide this notice so the technology is transparent. If we introduce non-essential analytics, personalisation or advertising technology, we will update this notice and provide an appropriate consent control before the technology is enabled where consent is required.
4. Forms and Turnstile
Turnstile appears on quote, contact, partnership, client referral and Consumer Duty forms. If the necessary script, storage or network request is blocked, the security check may not complete and the online form cannot be submitted. You can still contact us using the telephone or email details shown on the website.
More information is available in the Cloudflare Turnstile documentation and Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
5. External links and social media
The footer contains links to Simply Zest social media profiles and external guidance or regulatory websites. They are ordinary links, not embedded social tracking widgets. The destination may set its own cookies after you choose to follow the link. Its privacy and cookie information will apply on that site.
6. Managing browser storage
Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and site data. The exact controls depend on the browser and device. Blocking all cookies, scripts or browser storage can prevent security checks and forms from working correctly.
- Review the privacy or site-data section of your browser settings.
- Delete stored site data when you no longer want it retained.
- Use browser content controls or privacy extensions carefully, as they may block required form security.
The Information Commissioner’s Office provides additional public guidance about cookies.
7. Changes and contact
We review this notice when website technology or providers change. The date at the top identifies the current version. If you have a question about our use of cookies or security technology, email our data protection officer, John Lugsdin, at john.lugsdin@cffl.co.uk.
